This catalog - another superb Frank Sternberg sale - was Richard Beyer Witschonke's personal copy used for bidding in the auction. 'RBW' (1945-2015) formed one of the most complete collections of Roman Republican coins ever to be auctioned and some of the coins in his collection came from this auction. Many of the Roman lots have been annotated in pencil by RBW, and the catalog includes a post-sale fax from Alan Walker at Bank Leu who had bid on the coins for RBW. Also a pre-sale typed and signed letter from Frank Sternberg, inviting RBW to the pre-sale dinner. A fascinating piece of history for the Roman specialist.
