NOTES
To the connoisseur, the sales of Jacob Hirsch need little introduction - they present many of the finest collections of ancient Greek and Roman coins, beautifully photographed, and as such Hirsch catalogs command very high prices. This single volume contains three sales. The first is Hirsch XVII - a fixed price sale from early 1907, illustrated throughout. Sale XIX [Slg. Virzi] Nov 11 1907 (17 Plates) is especially strong in Sicily. A single catalog in morocco binding recently realized $600 (2014), and $300 in buckram (2015). Sale XX, the Hoskier Collection, Nov. 13 1907, has 736 lots and 22 Plates, the majority of which are Greek. In green cloth, a copy recently realized $350 (2014).
