NOTES
Sotheby - July 1911. The Charles Butler Collection. Ancient Greek 'including some very fine medallions of Syracuse and Large Gold Coins of the Ptolemies'. The Roman section includes 'an important series of Aurei and some very fine coins in bronze'. A small European section of English and Foreign Medals includes 'the very rare Naval Reward Medal of Elizabeth for the Spanish Armada in Gold' - buyer recorded as Feuardent.

CONDITION
Older quarter binding with marbled boards. Gilt title "BUTLER COIN SALE - 1911" running vertically along the spine. All plates are complete. All lots are hand priced and the buyers names written in. Total Prices realized for each day of the sale have been recorded as well as the sale grand total (over 5000 pounds). A fascinating record of this sale.
