Description Lot 19. LUCANIA, Metapontion. Circa 290-280 BC. AR Nomos (21mm, 7.91 g, 2h). Head of Demeter left, wearing wreath of grain ears, single-pendant earring, and pearl necklace; K to right, ΛY below / Barley ear with leaf to right; META upward to left, spindle above leaf. Johnston Class D, 1.4 (same dies); HN Italy 1612; SNG Fitzwilliam 507 (same dies). Lightly toned with some underlying luster, trace obverse die rust, minor reverse die break, light scratches and marks. EF.
