Description Gelon, son of Hieron II. 275-215 BC. AR 4 Litrai – Drachm (17mm, 3.28 g, 1h). Struck circa 218/7-214 BC. Diademed head left / Eagle standing right on thunderbolt; MI to left, BA to right. CCO 298.5 (D1/R3 – this coin); BAR Issue 67; SNG ANS 898-902 var. (control letters); SNG Fitzwilliam 1410 (same dies). VF, toned, lamination on cheek. From the Robert and Julius Diez Collection.
